Christian Mamerow

Christian "Chris" Mamerow (born February 25, 1985 in Castrop-Rauxel ) is a German racing driver . He is the son of Peter Mamerow .

Career

Mamerow began his motorsport career in 1997 in kart racing , which he practiced until 1999. In 2000 he made the leap to Formula BMW , where he stayed until 2002. After a year without a permanent cockpit, he got a place in the UPS-Porsche-Junior-Team in 2004 and competed in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany . There he was initially unable to assert himself, but was given a cockpit for the following year at Mamerow Racing , his father's team. Since then he has always achieved top placements.

In addition to his involvement in the Porsche Carrera Cup, he competed with his father in the BFGoodrich endurance championship from 2004 and in the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring from 2005 . In 2007, together with Peter Mamerow, he won his first race win in the endurance championship. He also took part sporadically in the ADAC GT Masters in the same year and achieved a second and a fourth place. In 2008 Mamerow said goodbye to the Porsche one-make cups with third place in the championship in the Carrera Cup and fourth in the Supercup .

In 2009 Mamerow focused on Nürburgring endurance races. In the endurance championship he drove a new Porsche 997 GT3 Cup S and became Manthey Racing's toughest competitor . In total, he achieved four wins in the season, one with Lance David Arnold and three in a row with Dirk Werner . Mamerow also made individual appearances with various teams in the FIA GT3 European Championship .

In 2014 Christian Mamerow won the 42nd 24-hour race at the Nürburgring. He won the Eifel classic in the Audi R8 LMS Ultra with starting number 4 from Phoenix Racing. In 2012 he finished second in an identical vehicle from Mamerow Racing .
