Mamerow Racing is a motorsport team and vehicle tuner from Castrop-Rauxel . Peter Mamerow is the team boss and managing director of the company, which specializes in Porsche vehicles and was founded in 1988 .

Motorsport

The motorsport history of Mamerow Racing began in 1982 with the participation of Peter Mamerow in the VW Golf Cup. A year later, he won the German Circuit Cup. In 1984 he finished fourth in the European Production Car Championship. Then he drove in the German Endurance Cup. In 1990 he competed in the German Touring Car Challenge. In the following two years Mamerow drove in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany . From 1993 to 1995 he took part in the ADAC GT Cup . In 1996 he started in the Super Touring Car Cup in an Audi 80 , but only achieved 23rd place in the drivers' championship. After another year in the endurance cup , where the second championship place was achieved, Mamerow returned to the Super Touring Car Cup in 1998 on an Audi A4 . He only reached 20th place in the drivers' championship, but was third-best private driver.

From 1999 Peter Mamerow concentrated on promoting young talent and entered two vehicles in Formula BMW . In the first season, Mamerow Racing and its drivers André Lotterer and Martin Tomczyk won the team championship. This success was achieved again in 2000 with drivers Hannes Lachinger and Henrik Wilking . In 2001 the championship victory, among others with Timo Glock , in both the driver and team standings went to Mamerow Racing. In the same year, Peter Mamerow was the first Opel privateer to drive in the DTM . However, he had no chance with last year's car and did not score any championship points. In 2002, Mamerow Racing took second place in the Formula BMW ADAC team classification. In 2003 the team started in the BFGoodrich endurance championship , where Peter Mamerow and Klaus Niedzwiedz celebrated a race victory.

In 2004 Mamerow Racing returned to the Porsche Carrera Cup and achieved fourth place in the team classification. From 2005, Peter Mamerow's son Christian was also behind the wheel of a Mamerow Porsche. He finished sixth in the drivers 'standings, while Mamerow Racing came eighth in the teams' standings. In the same year Peter and Christian Mamerow started in a Porsche 996 GT3 RSR in the BFGoodrich endurance championship and achieved second place as the best result. In 2006 Christian Mamerow achieved fifth place in the drivers' classification of the Porsche Carrera Cup. In the endurance championship, Peter and Christian Mamerow achieved second place twice as their best result. In 2007 Christian Mamerow secured fourth place in the drivers' championship of the Porsche Carrera Cup. In the team standings, Mamerow Racing took second place in the final accounts. In the same year, Peter and Christian Mamerow celebrated their first joint race victory in the endurance championship. The team also took part in two ADAC GT Masters race weekends . It achieved a second place on the Nürburgring and a fourth place in Oschersleben. In the 2008 season, Christian Mamerow moved up to third championship place in the Porsche Carrera Cup. Mamerow Racing finished the season with fourth place in the team classification.

Mamerow Racing has been contesting regular races in the BFGoodrich endurance championship with the Porsche 997 GT3 Cup S since 2009 . After finishing second at the season opener, Christian Mamerow was able to celebrate a victory with Lance David Arnold in the second race . This made Mamerow Racing the first team to achieve a long-distance championship victory with a vehicle of the new GT3 class. The season came to a very successful end for Mamerow Racing when Christian Mamerow won three races in a row with Dirk Werner .
