Christine "Chris" O'Neil (born March 19, 1956 in Newcastle , New South Wales ) is a former Australian tennis player.

Career

In 1978 she won the women's singles at the Australian Open as number 112 in the world rankings and as the first unseeded and so far last Australian player . It should remain her only title in professional tennis. She reached her best world ranking position in singles with 80th place in the same year. In 1985 she was in the quarterfinals in women's doubles with Pam Whytcross . Today she runs the O'Neils School of Tennis with her brother William O'Neil.
