Christa Deanne Harmotto (born October 12, 1986 in Sewickley , Pennsylvania ; now Christa Dietzen ) is an American volleyball player . She won the Olympic silver medal in 2012, the World Championship in 2014 and the Olympic bronze medal in 2016

Career

Harmotto began her athletic career at Hopewell High School in Aliquippa near Pittsburgh . In addition to volleyball, she also played basketball there . During her studies at Pennsylvania State University , she played on the university's volleyball team from 2005 to 2008. With the US juniors, the middle blocker won the NORCECA championship in 2004. The following year she took part in the U-20 World Cup. In April 2009 Harmotto made his debut in an international match against Egypt in the senior national team . She took part in the Grand Prix in the same year . She then went to China to join Guangdong Evergrande for one season . In 2010 the middle blocker moved to Pallavolo Modena in the Italian league . In 2012 she won the Grand Prix with the national team . At the Olympic Games in London she reached the final against Brazil with the US team and won the silver medal.

Christa Harmotto has been married to Derek Dietzen since 2012.
