Christa Hasselhorst

Christa Hasselhorst (born May 17, 1953 in Schwelm ) is a German journalist and author .

Life

After completing her journalistic training, Christa Hasselhorst first worked in Hamburg as an editor for a living magazine and culture editor for radio. She then worked as press spokeswoman for the State Opera and the Thalia Theater . Since 1997 she has been a freelance culture journalist with a focus on theater , classical music , opera and travel.

Christa Hasselhorst has lived in Potsdam since 2000 . Here she rediscovered an enthusiasm that was awakened as a child in her grandparents' garden: the subjects of plants and parks , gardens and garden history . People and their gardens have been her passion ever since. She writes regularly about this in daily newspapers and magazines and has been a gardening book author since 2004. In 2010 she designed the show garden “Gardener from Love” at the State Horticultural Show Bad Essen / Schloss Ippenburg and was one of the speakers at the International Horticultural Exhibition 2017 in Berlin .

Christa Hasselhorst is on the board of the Society for the Promotion of Garden Culture, gives lectures and readings and guides through public parks and private gardens.
