Christa Lang , married Christa Fuller , (born December 23, 1943 in Winterberg , Germany ) is a German-American actress in international film.

Live and act

Lang, who came from what is now North Rhine-Westphalia, had Huguenots among her ancestors , so that she began to be interested in French culture and the language of this country very early on. After an audition (for Arthur Miller's witch hunt ) with Helmut Käutner at a theater school, Lang's mother banned the underage Christa from acting, whereupon the blonde, who had previously read a newspaper ad that au pair girls were wanted in France , turned away at Went to Paris for 17 years. Christa Lang took various jobs there, working as an au pair, as a translator for a textile company and as a model for the sculptor Paul Belmondo. Finally, she made test recordings with Marc Allégret and at the age of 19 received her first (still small) film role in a French film with Maria Schell , Das Übersinnliche Landhaus .

In the following years, Christa Lang shot the Seine film on film and shortly after starting her career worked with local artists such as Roger Vadim , Jean-Luc Godard and Claude Chabrol . Her film partners in France in the 1960s included stars such as Jean Gabin , Gert Fröbe , Eddie Constantine and Anthony Perkins . Most of the time in these films her part was the blond innocence or seductress with sometimes bad qualities (like her seductive siren, who first wraps Akim Tamiroff around her finger and then steals in Godard's Lemmy Caution against Alpha 60 ). For a few months, the German tried her hand as a stage interpreter in the play La Jalousie ("The Jealousy", based on Sacha Guitry ).

After meeting the US director Samuel Fuller , they married on July 25, 1967, and after not even five years in France, Christa Lang left France with her husband and moved to Hollywood. There she made her debut in 1968 with a tiny appearance in an Elvis Presley Western ( Charro! ). While her US career did not really pick up speed - Christa Lang never got beyond supporting roles - the American-by-choice got her only leading role in her old home of all places: under the direction of her husband, Christa Lang played in her only German (albeit English-speaking ) Production, the crime scene crime thriller Dead Taube in Beethovenstrasse, the opaque Christa who dies at the end of the criminal case. Christa Lang could also be seen later in other Fuller productions, but even there only in supporting roles. Occasionally, Christa Lang Fuller also tried her hand at scriptwriting and produced documentaries about her husband.

In early 1975 her and Sam Fuller's daughter Samantha Fuller was born, who would later work sporadically as a film actress.
