Marc Allégret
Marc Allégret (born December 22, 1900 in Basel , † November 3, 1973 in Paris ) was a French film director and the brother of director Yves Allégret .
Life
After Marc Allégret had completed his law degree, he became secretary to André Gide , with whom he entered into a relationship in 1917. His first film, Voyage au Congo (1926) , was made while accompanying Gide on an expedition to Africa . He then worked as an assistant director for Augusto Genina and Robert Florey . In 1931 he started making his own films.
Allégret is considered to be the discoverer of Brigitte Bardot .
