Marcel Achard
Marcel Achard , actually Marcel-Auguste Ferréol (born July 5, 1899 in Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon , † September 4, 1974 in Paris ) was a French playwright and screenwriter and a member of the Académie française .
Life
He studied at the University of Lyon . He mainly wrote scripts for the director Marc Allégret . Achard was a member of the international jury at the Cannes International Film Festival in 1955 and 1966 . He was the jury chairman at this festival from 1958 to 1960, and at the Venice International Film Festival during the same period . Achard died of diabetes on September 4, 1974.
