Yves Allégret

Yves Allégret (born October 13, 1907 in Asnières-sur-Seine , † January 31, 1987 in Paris ) was a French director .

Life

Allégret shot the films Schenke zum Vollmond , Die Haulmütigen and Germinal , among others . He was married to the French actress Simone Signoret . Their daughter Catherine Allégret is also an actress. His brother Marc Allégret was also a director. Allégret was formerly secretary of the Russian revolutionary Leon Trotsky .

In 1987 he was posthumously awarded the César for his life's work.
