Christa Princess von Thurn und Taxis (born December 14, 1941 in Heidenheim an der Brenz as Christa Ingeborg Heinle) is a functionary in the Bavarian Red Cross and was its president from 2003 to December 7, 2013.

Life

She has been married to Max Emanuel von Thurn und Taxis (full name: Max Emanuel Maria Albert Paul Isabella Klemens Lamoral Prince of Thurn and Taxis) since March 14, 1971. She has two sons with him.

Christa von Thurn und Taxis was deputy chairwoman of the BRK district association Ostallgäu from 1985 and of the BRK district association Swabia from 1989. She occupied these offices until 2005. Since 1989 she has been a member of the BRK regional executive committee and the decision-making committee for social affairs, since 1994 also of the federal committee for welfare and social work in the DRK. From 1993 to 2001 she was an elected member of the state committee of readiness in the BRK and in 1995 became a founding member of the Academy of the German Red Cross . From 1997 to 2000 she was a senator for the BRK in the Bavarian Senate . Since November 1999 she has been Vice-President of the BRK and then since June 2003 incumbent President. In 2003 she became a member of the Board of Trustees (Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees Jutta Lowag ) of the women's monastery at Luitpoldpark in Munich.

She was elected President of the Bavarian Red Cross on November 8, 2003 and held this office until the state assembly on December 7, 2013 in Altötting . Her successor was Theo Zellner .
