Jutta Lowag

Jutta Lowag (born August 18, 1939 in Breslau , † December 30, 2014 in Munich ) was a German economist and for many years administrative director and deputy director of Bavarian Broadcasting .

Life

In 1964, Jutta Lowag began her professional career as a tax consultant. From 1970 to 1973 the qualified economist headed the finance group at the German Olympic Center. She then went to Bayerischer Rundfunk as head of the main finance department. Here Lowag was responsible for many areas of finance, for example in the commission for determining the financial needs of broadcasters . There she was in charge of medium-term financial planning and tax issues. In addition, she served as the longstanding President of the Financial Assembly of the European Broadcasting Union . She represented Bayerischer Rundfunk at many companies such as Telepool , Bavaria Film and Degeto Film . From 1993 to 2002 Lowag held the post of administrative director at the Munich broadcaster and from 1999 to 2002 was its deputy director of the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation.

Jutta Lowag, who, among many other activities, campaigned for the integration of the public broadcasting stations in Eastern Europe and was a founding member of the Orchestra Academy of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra , retired on December 31, 2002, but remained managing director of Bayerischen Rundfunkwerbung.

On December 17, 2014, Jutta Lowag received the Bavarian Order of Merit . She was also deputy chairwoman of the Eugen Biser Foundation and chairwoman of the board of trustees of the women's monastery at Luitpoldpark.

Jutta Lowag found her final resting place in the municipal cemetery in Rosenheim.
