Christel Nicolaysen (born July 8, 1969 in Ängelholm , Sweden ) is a German politician ( FDP ) and former member of the Hamburg parliament . She is also a Swedish citizen.

Life

Christel Nicolaysen studied political science at the Universities of Konstanz and Potsdam from 1992 to 1998 and graduated with a diploma. Between 1998 and 2004 she worked in New York City , Munich , Berlin . Since 2004 she has worked as a political and communication consultant for companies, institutions and organizations in Hamburg, Berlin and Brussels .

Party and politics

Nicolaysen joined the FDP in 2011. She has been a board member and treasurer of the Hamburg-Blankenese district association since 2014. She is also a board member of the Altona district association. In October 2017, she moved up for the resigned MP Katja Suding in the Hamburg Parliament . She was a member of the committees for social affairs, work and integration, for economy, innovation and media, in the culture committee, in the submission committee and in the European committee and specialist political spokeswoman for her group for the areas of work, women, Europe, integration, media and social affairs.

After the FDP failed to meet the five percent threshold in the 2020 citizenship election , it left the citizenship.
