Christhard Gössling

Christhard Gössling (born September 1, 1957 in Höxter ) is a German trombonist .

Life

Gössling studied trombone with Willy Walther at the Northwest German Music Academy in Detmold .

He became principal trombonist with the Gürzenich Orchestra in Cologne and in 1984 with the Berliner Philharmoniker , where he was on the orchestra's board from 1992 to 1998. He was also a member of the board of trustees of the Salzburg Easter Festival .

Since 1985 he has been a lecturer at the Herbert von Karajan Foundation in Berlin. In 1995 he became visiting professor and 2000 professor for trombone at the Academy of Music "Hanns Eisler" Berlin . From 2000 to 2008 he was rector there .
