Christian Adam (Germanist)

Christian Adam (born Christian Härtel ; * 1966 in Lörrach ) is a German photographer and Germanist . Since 2015 he has been editor in the Center for Military History and Social Sciences of the Bundeswehr (ZMSBw) in Potsdam.

Life

Christian Adam grew up in Lörrach. From 1988 to 1990 he trained as a photographer at the vocational training center Lette-Verein in Berlin (journeyman's examination 1990) and then studied modern German literature and journalism at the Free University of Berlin . In 1998 he was a DAAD scholar at the Hoover Institution on War, Revolution, and Peace in Stanford, California. During his studies he worked as a photographer and was an assistant for advertising photography at Hans Pieler .

From 1998 to 2001 he was an editor at Ch. Links Verlag . From 2002 to 2007 he worked as a program manager for be.bra Verlag , where he built up be.bra Wissenschaft Verlag . In 2003 he was at the Humboldt University of Berlin about the Nazi author Wilfrid bath for Dr. phil. PhD.

From 2007 to 2014 Adam was a consultant or head of publications in the Education and Research Department of the Federal Commissioner for Stasi Records (BStU) in Berlin. Since 2013 he has been a lecturer in the Department of Edition Studies at the Free University of Berlin . In 2015 he became head of the editorial team at the Center for Military History and Social Sciences of the Bundeswehr (ZMSBw) in Potsdam.

He researches and publishes on literature in the time of National Socialism , on the regional history of Berlin-Brandenburg and on German-German history .
