Christian Ammer

Christian Ammer (* 1962 in Munich ) is a German forest scientist and professor for silviculture and forest ecology of the temperate zones at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen .

Life

Ammer studied forest science at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich (LMU) and then completed a legal clerkship at the Bavarian State Forestry Administration . His father Ulrich Ammer was a professor for land use planning and nature conservation at the LMU.

From 1992 he worked as a research assistant at the LMU, where he received his doctorate in forest sciences in 1996, and with the transfer of the forest sciences faculty to the Technical University of Munich from 1999 as a research assistant there. After completing his habilitation in forestry in 2001, he first worked as a forestry advisor at the Landshut Forestry Department, then as a senior forestry advisor in the department for training, forestry research, information and documentation at the State Ministry of Agriculture and Forests .

In 2005, Ammer was appointed head of the silviculture department at the Bavarian State Institute for Forests and Forestry in Freising - Weihenstephan , before he was appointed professor for silviculture and forest ecology of the temperate zones at the Faculty of Forestry and Forest Ecology at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen in 2007 has been.
