Christian August Münckner

Christian August Münckner (born December 12, 1788 in Grimma ; † September 30, 1864 ) was a German Protestant theologian .

Life

Münckner attended schools in his home country and then, from 1809, studied theology at the University of Leipzig . Since his father died in 1805, Münckner was very poor. The situation changed in the autumn of 1810 when he received the convict and the clinical traineeship at the Nicolaikirche. The same pastor at that time appointed Christian Münckner as catechist and private tutor in 1812 . In 1817 he finally became a pastor in Limbach near Oschatz . During the seven years that he held the position, he came closer to poetry . He became senior pastor in Strehla in 1825.
