Christian Balthasar von Hartmannsdorff

Christian Balthasar von Hartmannsdorff , also Christian Balzer von Hartmannsdorf (born January 27, 1746 in Lüssow (near Stralsund) , † March 9, 1820 in Greifswald ), was a judge at the Greifswald court .

He was the son of Balthasar (Balzer) Gustav von Hartmannsdorff (1702–1750), lien owner of the Lüssow estate near Stralsund , and his wife and cousin Johanna Dorothea Catharina (1715–1782), daughter of the court director Johann Christian von Hartmannsdorf . From 1766 to 1795 he was a trainee lawyer at the court court in Greifswald , then an assessor . The government of Swedish Pomerania awarded him the title of Chief Appeal Council in 1813 . He remained in office even after Swedish Pomerania passed to Prussia . On his 60th anniversary in 1816 he was awarded the Order of the Red Eagle III. Class awarded.

Christian Balthasar von Hartmannsdorff was not married. After his death, the greater part of his fortune, around 15,000 thalers, went to relatives and other people, partly as a legacy for religious or charitable purposes. He donated the remaining 12,500 thalers to the widows' fund of the court and half to the city poor.

There is a bronze epitaph in his honor in Greifswald Cathedral .
