Christian Bolt
Christian Bolt (born November 3, 1972 in Uster , Switzerland ) is a Swiss sculptor and painter .
Life and education
Bolt completed his first artistic training in the years 1988–1992 at the technical school for wood carving in Brienz BE. After various stays abroad in the USA and Germany, he began studying with Ballocchi at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Carrara (Italy) in 1997. In 1999 he continued his studies in fine arts at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence and became a student of Antonio di Tommaso. In 2001 he finished his studies in Florence.
Between 2001 and 2003, Bolt worked as a freelance artist in Zurich, where he had his first studio in Adliswil . Since 2003 he has lived and worked in Klosters-Monbiel in the canton of Graubünden . In the following years, Bolt realized various projects in the field of art in architecture as well as numerous works for private and institutional collections. Bolt has been a member of the International Sculpture Center since 2007 . In the same year he published the artistic manifesto “Kunst muss weitererschreiten”, in which he criticized the arbitrariness and everydayness of a large part of contemporary art and postulated a return to the traditional unity of idea and form in the work of art. In 2009 she took part in the in Venice as well as a stay curated by the art museum Art St. Urban as “Artist in Residence” in the program “east meets west”. In this context, Bolt worked for several weeks in the national sculpture center in Oronsko (Poland). Bolt's works are represented by several international galleries and represented at international art fairs.
