Life

Christian David Nisle came from a family of musicians. He was born as the son of horn player Johannes Nisle (1735–1788) and his wife Juliane Margarethe (Juliana Margaretha). Kauffmann (1741–1822) born in Ludwigsburg . His older brother Johann Wilhelm Friedrich (1780–1873) was also a horn player, while his younger brother Johann Martin Friedrich (1780–1873) attracted attention all over Europe as a traveling horn virtuoso and resourceful composer.

Like his brothers, Christian David came to music early; like this he was taught the French horn by his father , who took him on concert tours as a boy. As an adolescent he was already a skilled musician who also performed solo with his father and older brother. Before the turn of the century he was employed as a court musician at the Berleburger Hof for two years before he went on concert tours again, sometimes alone, sometimes with his brothers.

In 1805/06 Christian David traveled with Johann Martin Friedrich to Dresden , Prague and Vienna . Supported by Prince Esterházy , the brothers stayed in Vienna, Burgenland and above all in Hungary from 1806 to 1809 . In 1809 they traveled to Italy via Trieste . Around 1810 they arrived in Catania , Sicily , where Christian David's life was lost: “From this point on, all traces of David disappear; he probably stayed somewhere in Italy. "
