Christian Fühner (born May 29, 1987 in Lingen (Ems) ) is a German politician ( CDU ). He has been a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament and state chairman of the Junge Union Niedersachsen since 2017 .

Life

After graduating from high school Leoninum in Handrup in 2007, Fühner completed an apprenticeship as a banker at Volksbank Haselünne eG. Subsequently, he began studying economics and special economics at the University of Duisburg-Essen , which he completed with the acquisition of the first state examination . He then completed a teaching traineeship at the vocational schools in Bersenbrück. Since May 1, 2017, he has been a lecturer at the Vocational School for Business in Lingen .

Fühner has been a member of the Junge Union since 2006 and was chairman in the Emsland-Osnabrück district, as well as its district chairman in the old district of Lingen. Since 2011 he has been a member of the local council of the Lingen district of Holthausen, as well as a member of the city council of the city of Lingen since 2011 and also a member of the district council of the district of Emsland since 2011 .

In the Lower Saxony state election on October 15, 2017, Fühner was elected to the Lower Saxony state parliament as a direct candidate for the Lingen state electoral district with 58.0% of the first votes . He succeeds Heinz Rolfes , who was no longer a candidate.

On March 30, 2019, the delegates of the Young Union of Lower Saxony elected him to the 53rd Lower Saxony Day with 85.14% as the new state chairman. He succeeds Tilman Kuban , who was previously federal chairman of the Junge Union Deutschlands .

He names education and finance as his political priorities. Fühner is single and lives in Holthausen.
