Christian Friedrich Wilhelm of the East

Christian Friedrich Wilhelm von der Osten called Sacken , also from the Osten-Sacken (born July 11, 1741 in Gabersee, † October 3, 1793 in Deutsch Krone ) was a Prussian district administrator . From 1772 to 1775 he was in charge of the Deutsch Krone district .

Life

He came from the noble family of the East . His father Anton Ernst von der Osten (* 1693, † 1745) was a major in Saxony. His mother Friederike Christine (* 1719; † not determined) was born Kölbel von Geysing . He was the only child.

Christian Friedrich Wilhelm von der Osten joined the army of the Kingdom of Poland , in which he rose to major . He took his leave around 1768. In 1769 he married Henriette Wilhelmine Elisabeth (* 1749; † not determined), born von der Goltz and daughter of the Polish general Georg Wilhelm von der Goltz . She brought the Lüben estate near Deutsch Krone with her as a dowry .

After the First Partition of Poland in 1772, the Prussian statesman and organizer Franz Balthasar Schönberg von Brenkenhoff won him over for the Prussian civil service. He was appointed the first district administrator of the newly formed Deutsch Krone district in the Netzedistrikt . As early as 1773, however, he tried to switch to the Prussian army , which King Frederick the Great personally refused. In 1775 he was dismissed as district administrator for poor conduct. Jacob Otto von Wobeser became the new district administrator .

Christian Friedrich Wilhelm von der Osten tried several times for a new post in the Prussian civil or military service, but was unsuccessful. He died in 1793 as heir on Lüben .

His son Friedrich Bernhard August von der Osten-Sacken (* 1778; † 1861) was raised to the Prussian count status in 1800 and took part in the campaigns of 1813/1814 as a Prussian colonel and commander of a hunter regiment.
