Christian Gottlieb Schüler (born March 27, 1798 in Salzungen ; † June 1, 1874 in Jena ) was a German lawyer and member of the Frankfurt National Assembly .

Life

After attending the Lyceum in Meiningen , pupils studied law at the universities of Jena and Heidelberg . During his studies he joined the original fraternity in Jena in 1816 . He took part in the Wartburg festivals of 1817, 1848 and 1867.

After his exams he worked as a lawyer in Salzungen from 1820 and entered the civil service in 1827.

From 1848 to 1849 he was a member of the preliminary parliament and the Frankfurt National Assembly for constituency 3 Jena (Saxony / Weimar / Eisenach). He was a member of the Constitutional Committee of the National Assembly and was a member of the German Court and the March Association . In 1849 he was a member of the Stuttgart rump parliament . From 1849 to 1850 he was a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach , where he was temporarily second vice-president. In 1859 he was a co-founder of the German National Association and the German Congress of Representatives , in 1864 he was vice-president of the Eisenach democracy meeting .

In 1870 he became an honorary citizen of Jena.
