Christian Gottlob Biener (born January 10, 1748 in Zörbig , † October 13, 1828 in Leipzig ) was a German lawyer.

Before training at the grammar school in Schulpforta , he studied from July 25, 1768 at the University of Wittenberg and the University of Leipzig . In Leipzig he obtained a licentiate degree and since 1776 has given lectures on various legal topics. After receiving his doctorate in law in 1777, he became an associate professor of natural and international law in 1782, and in 1790 he became a full professor and soon a full professor at the Faculty of Law. He was also appointed court and high court judge and canon at Merseburg Cathedral . His son August Friedrich Biener was later the first dean of the law faculty of Berlin University and a student of Savigny's .

His literary work includes the "Commentarii de origine et progressu legum judiciarii communis et Saxonici" (1801, 1834, 1835) which enjoyed a lot of respect in the practice of the time. The other writings of Biener were published in 1830 as "Opuscula academica". It contains an interesting treatise on Philipp Melanchthon's contributions to law.
