Christian Gramsch

Christian Gramsch (born December 23, 1959 in Düsseldorf ) is a German journalist and former director of the Deutsche Welle Akademie ( DW Akademie ). He spent his childhood in Monheim am Rhein and is the older brother of the harpist Ulla van Daelen .

Career

After a traineeship at the Rheinische Post , Christian Gramsch worked for the SWF3 at Südwestrundfunk Baden-Baden, before working as a freelance radio and television journalist for various ARD broadcasters from 1983 . He moderated the program "SWF3-Litfasswelle" and various talk and entertainment programs on radio and TV. From 1986 to 1987, Gramsch reported as a correspondent for the radio news agency RUFA from Bonn.

Gramsch also worked for the TV broadcaster VOX , DW Fernseh-Nachrichten “Journal” and the WDR show “Current Hour”. In 2000, Gramsch became editor-in-chief and head of the politics, news and current affairs program at Hessischer Rundfunk . As part of the program reform at Hessischer Rundfunk, Gramsch was appointed head of the hr1 wave in 2004.

From 2006, as program director of Deutsche Welle, he brought together the radio and online areas in Bonn. Until 2013, as Director of the Regions Multimedia Directorate, he was responsible for DW's multimedia journalistic offers in 28 languages. From 2014 to 2018 he was director of DW Akademie .

Christian Gramsch also worked for a long time as a trainer for young journalists, for example for WDR , SWR and DW.
