Christian Gumprecht
Christian Gumprecht (born July 31, 1950 in Windischleuba ) is a German politician ( CDU ), former district administrator and from 2004 to 2014 a member of the Thuringian state parliament .
Professional background
After graduating from high school in 1969 and the subsequent basic military service, Gumprecht studied electrical engineering in Ilmenau from 1971 , which he completed as a graduate engineer. He then worked as a project engineer in the energy industry in Dresden and Leipzig until 1990 . From 2000 to 2001 Gumprecht worked as a project manager for the Ostthüringen development company , then for the Thuringia regional development company .
politics
In 1990 Gumprecht was elected district administrator for the then Altenburg district. In October 1990 Gumprecht joined the CDU and became its chairman in the Altenburger Land. In 1994, the Altenburg district became part of the newly founded Altenburger Land district , whose district administrator Gumprecht remained until 2000, when he was defeated in the district election against Sieghardt Rydzewski (SPD).
In the 2004 state elections , Gumprecht was elected to the state parliament as a CDU direct candidate in the Altenburger Land II constituency. In the 4th electoral period (2004 to 2009) he was a member of the state parliament's committees for social affairs, family and health as well as for nature and the environment. He also defended his constituency in the 2009 state elections ; he did not run for the 2014 state election .

Gumprecht is chairman of the board of directors of the consumer organization Thüringen eV and board member of the WTC association (association for the promotion of technology transfer). He is also active as the chairman of the "Kontakt" association and is a member of the Altenburger Folkloreensemble eV, coal railway eV, Altenburger Bauernhöfe eV and Theaterverein Altenburg eV associations
