Christian Hansen (singer)
Christian Hansen ( 1874 in Neuss - after 1921) was a German opera singer ( tenor ).
Life
Hansen received his training in Düsseldorf , began his stage career as a singer at the Stadttheater Freiburg in 1898 , after working for a year at the Stadttheater Aachen and in 1900 at the Stadttheater Düsseldorf , where he made his debut as Tamino and excelled as a lyric tenor. He stayed in Düsseldorf until 1904, and after a successful guest performance he was engaged at the Theater des Westens in Berlin until 1906 . This was followed by engagements at the Nuremberg City Theater (1906–1909) and in Boston (1909–1910). In the USA he also performed in a few other cities.
Back to Europe followed engagements in Hamburg (1911–1913), again in Nuremberg (1913–1915), then Bremen (1915–1919) and finally Basel (1919–1921). His further life is unknown.
It was his downright brilliant vocal material that received recognition above all. Of the achievements of this talented singer, particularly noteworthy were "Romeo", "Lyonel", "Manrico", "Assad", "Turidda", "Almaviva", "Postillon" etc.
