Christian Heinrich Breuning

Christian Heinrich Breuning (born December 24, 1719 in Leipzig ; † November 16, 1780 ibid) was a German legal scholar . He taught at the University of Leipzig .

Life

The son of the teacher Johann Friedrich Breuning and Maria Regina, née Schmidtin, initially received lessons from his father. Then he attended the Thomas School in Leipzig , where his father worked. In 1739 he began studying law at the University of Leipzig on the advice of his teachers there. After graduating in 1749, he received the degree of Baccalaureus in law.

On May 25, 1752 Breuning defended a sample signature without chair and his doctorate based on his Dissertatio juris universalis de conditionibus principis diversis for Doctor of Laws . In the next time he worked as a lecturer , in addition he occupied himself with his further training and practiced in the disputation in order to be able to receive a professorship in Leipzig later.

Breuning became associate professor of law on May 29, 1754. His inaugural address was entitled De Autoritate Poetarum, maxime Virgilii apud Jure-Consultos . In 1756 he was accepted into the Duisburg learned society.

Breuning received the full professorship of natural and international law in 1762. He held this until his death in 1780 at the age of 60.
