Christian Kehre (* 1971 in Landau in der Pfalz ) is a German historian . Since 2015 he has been professor for the history of science and technology at the TU Braunschweig .

Life

From 1993 to 2001 he studied modern history and philosophy at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen (MA 2001, supervised by Hartmut Berghoff ) and the Stony Brook University (Master of Arts 1998) in Stony Brook, New York. From 2003 to 2006 he worked at the Graduate College “Technology and Society” at the Technical University of Darmstadt . In 2007 he was with Mikael Hård with the dissertation Modern Warriors. The technical experience of German Air Force pilots from 1910 to 1945 to become Dr. phil. PhD.

From 2006 to 2009 he was a research assistant at the Research Institute for the History of Technology and Science at the Deutsches Museum in Munich, where he was involved in the research project “Knowledge-Production and Innovation at the Nanoscale. Instruments, Images and Visions in the Practice of Nanotechnology ”as part of the funding initiative“ Innovation Processes in Business and Society ”of the Volkswagen Foundation . In 2009/10 he was a fellow at the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society ( LMU Munich ). From 2010 to 2015 he was a research assistant at the Chair for Modern Social, Economic and Technical History (Professorship Martina Heßler ) at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Helmut Schmidt University in Hamburg. In 2011/12 he was a research fellow / Karl-Ferdinand-Werner Fellowship at the German Historical Institute in Paris .

Since 2015, Kehre has been Professor for the History of Science and Technology at the History Department of the Technical University of Braunschweig .
