Christian Liedtke (printer)

Christian Liedtke (* 1733 in Wehlau (Pr.); † 1766 in Mitau ) was the lordly court printer of the Duke of Courland and Semigallia .

Life

He completed an apprenticeship as a printer and became a factor in the monastery printing press in Vilnius . He was appointed to Mitau by the Chancellor of the Duchy of Courland and Semgallia , Dietrich von Keyserling , where in 1761 he became the lordly court printer. In 1762 he bought the printing company . In 1766 he became the publisher of the Mitauische Nachrichten. From 1766 to 1769 his widow, Anna Maria Liedtke nee Hordel (in), was the owner of the book printing company, in 1769 she married Johann Friedrich Steffenhagen , who then became his successor as the royal court printer.
