Christian Lippold

Christian Lippold (born February 18, 1965 in Saalfeld ) holds the professorship for the design of road traffic systems and was Dean of the Faculty of Transport Science “Friedrich List” at the Technical University of Dresden until 2012 .

After high school and military service, Lippold first completed an apprenticeship as a concrete worker and worked on construction sites for a year and a half. He then studied civil engineering from 1986 to 1991 , specializing in road design and road construction at the University of Transport . He then moved to the Technical University of Darmstadt as a research assistant for four years , where he received his doctorate in 1996.

In 2001 he was appointed professor at the TU Dresden as the successor to Günter Weise . Lippold has been the publisher of the road planning manual Der Elsner since 2011 .

From 2020, Lippold will switch to Autobahn GmbH des Bundes for three years . Reinhard Koettnitz, who has been honorary professor since 2014, takes over his chair.
