Günter Weise

Günter Weise (born November 2, 1935 in Dachow , Brandenburg Province , today Dachów, Poland ) is a German transport scientist .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1954, Weise studied civil engineering at the Cottbus University of Civil Engineering and was then a research assistant in Cottbus and Weimar. From 1965 to 1973 he worked in the road design and engineering office in Berlin and received his doctorate in 1970 at the University of Architecture in Weimar on the subject of two-wheel traffic on country roads: a contribution to the interpretation of traffic flow .

From 1973 way was as a lecturer in road construction and project planning at the University of Transport in Dresden worked. Here he wrote his doctorate B in 1987 (recognized as a habilitation in 1991) on the subject of perfecting the scientific basis for the design of the lines of new and reconstructed roads: (Study on the revision of the university textbook road construction, Volume I) . From 1988 he researched and taught as a professor for road construction / project planning at the HfV and from 1992 until his retirement in 2001 he was professor for planning and design of road traffic systems and systems for air traffic at the Faculty of Traffic Science "Friedrich List" of the TU Dresden .

He is still active today at the Research Association for Roads and Transport , among other things on the revision of the guidelines for the construction of rural roads , and also works as a lecturer at the professorship of his successor Christian Lippold .
