Christian Ludwig Göckel

Christian Ludwig Göckel (born December 31, 1662 in Graefentonna ; † August 23, 1736 in Nuremberg ) was a German doctor , dean of the medical college in Nuremberg and a member of the academy of scholars " Leopoldina ".

Life

Christian Ludwig Göckel was the son of Veit Ludwig Göckel and Maria Elisabeth Göckel. The father was a judicial and consistorial councilor in Gotha . Christian Ludwig Göckel was a student in Gotha and a student of medicine in Jena. Here he received his doctorate in medicine in 1685. He became a physician in Hersbruck and in 1687 in Nuremberg. There he also became dean of the medical college. Most recently he was a privy councilor and personal physician to various imperial princes. One of the sons, Christoph Ludwig Göckel, later also became a doctor. The daughter Susanna Dorothea married Wilhelm Heinrich Schwalb and became a housewife. The youngest son was August Göckel.

On May 4, 1696 Christian Ludwig Göckel with the nickname Alexippus was accepted as a member ( matriculation number 221 ) in the Sacri Romani Imperii Academia Caesareo-Leopoldina Naturae Curiosorum .
