Christian Müller (journalist, 1944)
Christian Müller (born May 12, 1944 in Wettingen ) is a Swiss journalist .
Life
Müller grew up in Wettingen. In 1964 he began studying medicine and completed basic training in biology at the University of Zurich . His 17 weeks of compulsory military service fell in the same year . He later broke off his medical studies and switched to German studies , history and constitutional law . He wrote a dissertation with the title labor movement and entrepreneurial policy in the up-and-coming industrial city. Baden after founding the Brown Boveri company 1891–1914 , which he completed in 1974.
From 1964 to 1988 he initially worked alongside his studies, later full-time as a journalist and editor, from 1989 to 2009 as a publishing manager and media consultant. Since 2009 he has been working as a freelance journalist again.
From 1964 to 1978 Müller worked as a freelancer for the Badener Tagblatt , later an editor and finally deputy to the publisher Otto Wanner. From 1979 to 1988 he was publishing director for Luzerner Neusten Nachrichten for one year , then editor-in-chief . In 1989 he moved to Ringier AG Zurich as publishing director for magazines. He left the company that same year because of a personal conflict with member of the Executive Committee, Max Wiener.
From 1990 to 1992 he was chairman of the executive board of the Goldach trade press . From 1993 to 1994 Müller worked for the Ringier media group as managing director of the Bern daily newspaper Der Bund , after which he was general manager of Ringier Czech Republic in Prague until 1997. From 1994 to 1997 he was a member of the Board of Directors of the Swiss Dispatch Agency . From 1998 to 2002 he was a freelance publishing consultant with his own consulting firm Commwork AG in Zug. From 2003 to 2009, Müller was CEO of the Vogt-Schild media group in Solothurn . Since 2010 he has been a member of the editorial board of the Swiss internet newspaper Infosperber (from 2011) and was editor-in-chief of the German quarterly magazine Die Gazette from 2014 to 2016 .
Since 2012 he has been President of the Association of World Federalists Switzerland.
A son and a daughter come from the first marriage. He is married and from 2009 lived in Switzerland, Italy and the Czech Republic .
