Christian Mecke

Christian Walter Mecke (born January 10, 1966 in Rotenburg an der Wümme ) is a German lawyer and judge at the Federal Social Court .

Life

In 1992 he finished his law studies at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen by passing the first state examination. After working as a research assistant at the University of Göttingen, he completed his legal clerkship in Oldenburg . In the meantime , he did his doctorate in February 1997 and completed his legal clerkship in July 1997 with the second state examination.

He began his judicial career in December 1997 in Saxony-Anhalt . From February 2001 until the end of 2004 he was a judge at the Social Court in Dessau-Roßlau . At the end of his service in Dessau, he was seconded to the Federal Social Court as a research assistant and then to the State Social Court of Saxony-Anhalt . At the end of 2004 he was appointed judge at the regional social court.

On December 1, 2009, Christian Mecke was appointed judge at the Federal Social Court. There he was initially a member of the 12th Senate of the Federal Social Court, which is responsible for matters related to social security contributions and membership. On January 1, 2018, he moved to the 13th Senate responsible for statutory pension insurance, of which he is Deputy Chairman.
