Christian Mittermeier

Christian Mittermeier (born December 29, 1965 in Rothenburg ob der Tauber ) is a German chef .

Career

Mittermeier completed an apprenticeship as a butcher from 1982 to 1984, then trained as a chef at the Hotel Bareiss in Baiersbronn . In 1989 he first went to the “Euler” restaurant in Basel , but went into business the same year and ran the “Burgschenke” restaurant in Lörrach until 1994 . In 1994 he went back to his hometown Rothenburg ob der Tauber and took over the family business "Villa Mittermeier", which he has since expanded.

In 2005, the restaurant of the Villa Mitter Meier under chef Oliver warrior with a Michelin star Michelin star awarded, which was held by 2007. In 2009 the restaurant was again awarded a Michelin star under head chef Mathias Apelt. The gourmet restaurant and the casual fine dining “Die Blaue Sau” were combined in 2012 to form one restaurant. In 2010 the restaurant was again awarded a Michelin star under head chef Mathias Apelt. In mid-2012 he closed the gourmet restaurant.

Mittermeier is a member of the Jeunes Restaurateurs d'Europe , an association of young top chefs.

From June 2010 to October 2013 Mittermeier wrote, alternating with Jürgen Koch and Karl-Josef Fuchs, articles for the blog “Nachgesalzen” on Zeit Online .

In 2018 the boutique hotel Villa Mittermeier was expanded to include the concept hotel Mittermeier's Alter Ego .
