Christian Pewny

Christian Pewny (born May 17, 1967 in Radstadt ) is an Austrian entrepreneur and politician of the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ). In March 2019 he was elected Mayor of Radstadt. From November 9, 2017 to October 22, 2019, he was a member of the Austrian National Council .

Life

Christian Pewny attended the Flachau elementary school, the Radstadt secondary school and then the HTBL u. VA Mödling . Between 1988 and 1989 he did his military service in the Austrian Armed Forces . Since 1989 he has been an employee of the Radstadt driving school (1996 driving school teacher for all classes). In 2003 Pewny took his matriculation exam at the evening school for mechanical engineering ( HTBL Salzburg ). Since 2004 he has been the director and owner of the Pewny Driving School .

Pewny is married and has two children.

politics

Pewny became a member of the party in 2008 and has been a councilor in Radtstadt since 2009 . He is local party chairman of the FPÖ Radstadt and district party chairman of the FPÖ Pongau . He has been regional chairman of the Freedom Economy in Salzburg since 2012 and was a member of the federal board of the Ring Freedom Economy from 2014 to 2017 . He is a member of the economic parliament of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce and of the Salzburg Chamber of Commerce as well as part of the extended executive committee.

On November 9, 2017, he was sworn in in the Austrian National Council. In the municipal council and mayoral elections in Salzburg in 2019 , he was elected mayor of Radtstadt with 70.1 percent of the vote without opposing candidates. After the National Council election in 2019 , he resigned from the National Council.
