Darja Wladimirowna Maslova ( Russian Дарья Владимировна Маслова ; English transcription Darya Maslova ; born May 6, 1995 in Karakol ) is a Kyrgyz athlete who specializes in long-distance running.

Athletic career

Darja Maslowa gained her first international experience at the Junior Asian Championships 2014 in Taipei , where she won gold medals over 3000 meters and 5000 meters. At the Junior World Championships in Eugene , she finished 14th over 3000 meters and tenth place over 5000 meters. At the end of the year she was ninth over 5000 meters at the Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea . In 2015 she won the bronze medal over 5000 meters at the Asian Championships in Wuhan and also qualified for the Universiade in Gwangju , where she also won the bronze medal in this discipline. In 2016 she took part in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro over 10,000 meters , where she finished 19 with a new Kyrgyz record .

In 2017 she won the bronze medal over 5000 meters at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku and also set a new national record there. At the Asian Championships in Bhubaneswar , she won the long-distance double over 5000 and 10,000 meters and thus received a starting place for the World Championships in London . She decided to start over 10,000 meters and reached 17th place there . A few weeks later, as a student at the Academy of Sports (KIPEs), she took part in the Student World Games in Taipei , where she won the gold medal over 10,000 meters. In 2018 she won the Dushanbe half marathon and also won the Asian Games in Jakarta in 32: 07.23 minutes over 10,000 meters ahead of the Bahraini Eunice Chumba and the Chinese Zhang Deshun . She also won a medal over 5000 meters. In 15: 30.57 min she only had to admit defeat to the Ethiopian Kalkidan Gezahegne, who started for Bahrain .
