Christian Rivers

Christian Rivers is a New Zealand film technician and director specializing in visual effects . Rivers, who works for Weta Digital and Weta Workshop , was awarded an Oscar in 2006 for his work on King Kong .

Life

Since the film Braindead , Rivers has worked as a visual effects supervisor on every film that director Peter Jackson first met when he was 17. In 2005 he received the Oscar for Best Visual Effects for his work on Jackson's King Kong with Joe Letteri , Brian Van't Hul and Richard Taylor . In the film, Rivers also made a brief cameo as a soldier.

Since 2015 he has also appeared as a director. Rivers made his directorial debut in the film implementation of the novel Mortal Engines . Peter Jackson was also involved in the project as a writer and producer.
