Christian Salvatore Malchow

Christian Salvatore Malchow (* 1977 in Lübeck ) is a German tenor .

Life

After completing his training as a wholesale and foreign trade clerk at the music college in his hometown, Malchow studied stage and concert singing with Franz-Josef Einhaus and Susanne Gülzow , as well as privately with Leandra Overmann and John Treleaven .

During his studies he was engaged in the opera choir of the Lübeck theater. After completing his studies and successfully passing his diploma examination in 2006, he moved to the Semperoper as a member of the first tenor of the State Opera Choir. In 2008, on the advice of the director of the Semperoper Gerd Uecker , he went to the Central Saxon Theater Freiberg as a soloist. There he sang, among others, Cavaradossi in Tosca , Max im Freischütz and Dimitri in Franco Alfano's opera Risurrezione .

Since the 2010/2011 season he has been permanently engaged at the Theater für Niedersachsen . His most important roles here included the Radames in Hans-Peter Lehmann's Aida production, the role of Rodolfo in Puccini's La Bohème and the title role in Offenbach's Tales of Hoffmann . As Erik in The Flying Dutchman , he made his debut in Wagner at the Theater für Niedersachsen.

Since January 2014 Malchow has been a permanent member of the ensemble at the State Theaters of Saxony. He sings there among others Bachhus Ariadne auf Naxos , Max ("Der Freischütz") and King Gustav III (Riccardo) in Verdi's masked ball .
