Christian Salzmann (born February 1, 1931 in Bleckmar ; † June 6, 2018 in Osnabrück ) was a German educator and professor at the University of Osnabrück .

Life

His father was a pastor of the Old Lutheran Church . Christian Salzmann studied at the pedagogical university in Celle . When she moved to Osnabrück, he followed her as an employee and at the same time as a teacher in the school service, received his doctorate in Münster in 1964, combined with an assistant position, became a lecturer at the Münster University of Education in 1965 and professor at the University of Duisburg in 1968 , from 1973 until his retirement in 1998 then professor for education at the University of Osnabrück . Salzmann was married to his wife Christiane, née von Mosqua, who died in 2012. The marriage resulted in two sons.

Christian Salzmann developed the concept of regional learning based on his preoccupation with reform pedagogy and the search for ways to update it. For its practical implementation, he created the Noller Schlucht learning location in Nolle ( Dissen am Teutoburg Forest ).

Christian Salzmann was a member of the board of trustees of the Lutheran Theological University Oberursel of the Independent Evangelical Lutheran Church (SELK) and for decades a member and later also chairman of the commission for church instruction of the SELK.
