Christian Black Forest

Christian Schwarzwald (* 1971 in Salzburg ) is an Austrian artist; Since 2017 he has been teaching as a professor for graphics and printmaking techniques at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.

Life

From 1990 to 1996 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna with Markus Prachensky . Study visits took him to the Athens School of Fine Arts as well as to Florence and Mexico City . Since 2018 he has held the professorship for graphics at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.

Black Forest became known for its large paintings and installations in which he deals with living beings, structures, traces and evidence of the times.
