Ursula Krinzinger (born February 15, 1940 in Bregenz ) is an Austrian gallery owner and art dealer. She is a lobbyist for contemporary art and promoted the avant-garde of the 1960s and 1970s.

Life

Krinzinger studied art history and archeology; she also received diplomas as an interpreter in English and French. In 1971 she opened her first gallery in Bregenz, and the following year she founded a branch in Innsbruck , which existed until 1993. The existing one in the Seilerstätte in Vienna's 1st district, Innere Stadt , was founded in 1986. In 2002 she opened an experimental exhibition space called Krinzinger Projects in a former factory building on Schottenfeldgasse in Vienna's 7th district.

In 2007 Krinzinger was awarded the Austrian Cross of Honor for Science and Art . She had previously received the Silver Medal of Honor for Services to the State of Vienna and was named Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in France, and in 2004 she was awarded the OscART . Galerie Krinzinger runs several artist in residence programs, including one in the one world foundation in Sri Lanka.

Ursula Krinzinger is married to the archaeologist Friedrich Krinzinger .
