Christian Stahl

Christian Stahl (born February 11, 1970 in Cologne ) is a German journalist , author and filmmaker .

Life

Stahl studied German language and literature and history at the University of Bonn and Queen's College in Oxford . After a traineeship at the broadcaster Free Berlin , he worked as a regional radio correspondent for ARD and as a presenter at Radio Multikulti . Since 2005 he has headed an agency for digital storytelling and teaches video journalism at the Axel Springer Academy , the FU Berlin and the University of Fulda , among others . Stahl has been co-editor of the online magazine CARTA.info since September 2014.

With punks from Alexanderplatz in Berlin , he developed the fiction documentary Hundeleben in 2004 , in which Otto Sander and Maria Simon, among others, play small roles. In the winter of 2007, steel production with young people in Srebrenica to no-budget short film The future comes to Srebrenica . In 2010 he received the Grimme Online Award as a video lecturer at the Axel Springer Academy for the website www.littleberlin.de .

Stahl is the director of the award-winning documentary Gangsterläufer about a Palestinian refugee family in Berlin-Neukölln . In September 2014 Stahl's book was published: In den Gangs von Neukölln , which - like the film Gangsterläufer - deals with the contradictions of German integration policy based on the biography of the criminal offender Yehya E.
