Christian Veltin (born October 16, 1867 in Bernkastel , † April 22, 1952 in Trier ) was a German politician (center).

Live and act

After attending the higher boys' school in Kemperhof near Koblenz , Veltin was trained as a banker. According to his own statements, he then worked for many years “in finance, in savings bank transactions and in banking” and was bank director until 1909. He later became the owner of a winery in Bernkastel-Kues.

Veltin found a political home in the Catholic Center Party . In 1908 Veltin took over a political office for the first time when he became a member of the Prussian House of Representatives for the constituency Trier 2 ( Wittlich - Bernkastel . After the First World War , Veltin sat from June 1920 to May 1924 as a member of the first Reichstag of the Weimar Republic , in which he Constituency 24 (Koblenz-Trier).

In addition, Veltin emerged as the author of articles in the daily press and for agricultural magazines.
