Christian Vitzthum von Eckstädt (* February 4, 1681 , † December 20, 1738 in Dresden ) was a royal Polish and electoral Saxon colonel of the infantry and manor owner . He is the progenitor of the Silesian line of his noble family.

Life

He was the son of the Lord on Tiefensee in the office of Bitterfeld and Chamberlain and Rittmeister Christoph Vitzthum von Eckstädt and his second wife Johanna Helena, daughter of Colonel of the electoral bodyguard on horse Rudolf von Neitschütz on Röhrsdorf near Dohna , Borthen and Tronitz . Christian Vitzthum von Eckstädt married Eva Maria von Meusebach. He died on December 20, 1738 in Dresden and was buried in the family crypt in Röhrsdorf (near Pirna). He left the three underage sons Christian Ernst Friedrich, Friedrich Gottlob and Heinrich Rudolph Vitzthum von Eckstädt as heirs, who all three embarked on a military career and mostly settled in Silesia , which means that the Vitzthum von Eckstädt family also expanded into the Silesian regions. There was also at least one daughter.
