Christian Vogt (writer)

Christian Vogt (* 1979 in Kommern , Euskirchen district ) is a German author. He is an RPG designer and writes fantasy and science fiction literature and historical novels .

Life

After graduating from high school, Vogt studied physics at RWTH Aachen University and received his doctorate in the field of geophysics / geothermal energy. In 2012, together with his wife Judith C. Vogt, his first novel The Broken Doll was published by Feder & Schwert publishing house , which founded the steampunk franchise Eis & Dampf and in 2013 received the German Fantasy Prize in the main category "Best German-language novel". As editor of the associated anthology Eis und Dampf , Vogt received the German Fantastic Prize again a year later, this time in the category “Best Original Anthology”. The second novel, The Lost Puppet , was on the longlist, and Wasteland on the shortlist of the Seraph Fantastic Literature Prize .

The fantasy trilogy The 13 Drawn was published by Bastei Lübbe between 2018 and 2020 . His first science fiction novel, Wasteland , was published in 2019, followed in 2020 by Ace in Space , the novel on the successful role-playing crowdfunding Aces in Space.

Also with Judith C. Vogt he wrote the historical two-part Eburonenlied about the Gallic War between the Meuse, Rhine and Moselle as well as adventure.

In the role play area, he wrote adventures and source texts in the context of the black eye . Ice & Steam , Shards of Land and Aces in Space are separate role-play settings. Schorbenland received the German RPG Award in 2018 .

Like his wife, Vogt is one of the 13 founding members of the Fantastic Author Network (PAN). In February 2020, the two announced their exit from the network. Vogt lives with his family in Aachen and works full-time as a physicist.
