Christian Weise (luge)
Christian Weise (born January 17, 1987 ) is a former German luge rider .
Life
Christian Weise lives in Oberwiesenthal and started for the WSC Erzgebirge Oberwiesenthal . The sports soldier competes in a two-seater with Ronny Pietrasik . In 2005 they finished second at the Junior World Championships in Winterberg . They repeated this success a year later at the Junior World Championships in Altenberg. They achieved the same placement at the German junior championships in 2006. In Winterberg they won a junior world cup race and came second overall. In the 2006/07 season they were first in the overall standings, but this time they missed a medal in fourth place. In Königssee they won a World Cup race. They finished sixth in the German men's championship, and were again runner-up in the juniors.
Pietrasik / Weise have been competing in the men's area since the 2007/08 season. At the German championships they missed a medal in fourth place. In January 2009 they made their debut in the Luge World Cup in Königssee . They reached 15th place and did worse than their direct competitors Toni Eggert and Marcel Oster , which is why this double was nominated again for the World Cup. In 2016 he retired from active professional sports.
