Christiane Bräutigam (* 1975 in Leipzig ) is a German cantor , organist and conductor . She heads the choir of the Evangelical Reformed Church in Leipzig and is the artistic director of the Leipzig music festival "Klassik für Kinder", which she initiated.

Life

Christiane Bräutigam is the daughter of the musician Maria Bräutigam and the composer Volker Bräutigam . She studied church music (A) and organ in Leipzig , Weimar and Lyon . She learned organ with Arvid Gast and Jean Boyer , harpsichord with Christine Schornsheim and conducting with Georg Christoph Biller . She was 1st prize winner of the 5th Concours d'Orgue de Lorraine .

Christiane Bräutigam has been a church musician at the Evangelical Reformed Church in Leipzig since 1999 . Since 2005 she has been a lecturer for the organ in the School Music Department at the "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" University of Music and Theater in Leipzig . Since 2008 she has taught at the Evangelical College of Church Music Hall trays improvisation and artistic and liturgical organ playing.

Christiane Bräutigam regularly conducts performances of choral symphonic works. One focus of her work is conducting orchestral concerts for children and creating her own concepts for teaching classical music. To this end, she works with various orchestras such as the Leipzig Baroque Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Musical Comedy and the Central German Chamber Orchestra. She also directs the Leipzig Doctors Orchestra.

Christiane Bräutigam is a member of the organ juror at the “ Jugend musiziert ” competition . She regularly gives concerts in Germany, in numerous European countries and in Japan .

Discography

In 2004 Christiane Bräutigam recorded a solo CD on the Bach organ of the Thomaskirche in Leipzig. In 2010 the CD "Stiller Mond und Sternenklang" followed with jazz and improvisations. She takes part in various CD productions again and again.
