Christianne Mwange Mwasesa (born March 12, 1985 in Lubumbashi ) is a handball player from the Democratic Republic of the Congo , who plays for the national team of the Congo .

Career

In the club

Christianne Mwasesa played in Abidjan on the Ivory Coast until 2008 . Then the back court player was signed by the French second division Mérignac Handball . A season later she moved to the first division team Toulon Saint-Cyr Var Handball . In 2010, Mwasesa won the French championship with Toulon and qualified for the EHF Champions League . In the 2010/11 Champions League , Mwasesa scored 37 goals in the group stage. Toulon Saint-Cyr Var handball was eliminated after the group stage, but qualified for the current competition of the European Cup Winners' Cup . Here the Congolese scored another 27 hits.

Mwasesa won the French Cup in the 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons. As a result, she took part in the European Cup Winners' Cup again with Toulon Saint-Cyr Var Handball in the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons . She took a break from January 2013 and gave birth to her daughter in July. After Mwasesa played for Toulon Saint-Cyr Var handball again after her pregnancy, she left the club in August 2014. She later joined the Angolan club CD Primeiro de Agosto .

In the national team

Christianne Mwange Mwasesa took part in the 2012 African Championship with the Congolese national team. There the Democratic Republic of the Congo won the bronze medal and qualified for the 2013 World Cup in Serbia . At the 2013 World Cup, Mwasesa finished eighth in the top scorer list with 42 goals. In 2014 she finished second at the African Championship. At the 2015 World Cup , she finished eighth in the top scorer list with 45 goals.
