Christine Hargin (born January 24, 1980 in Stockholm ) is a former Swedish ski racer who is now active in freeride .

Career

In November 1995 the 15-year-old competed in the first FIS ( Fédération Internationale de Ski ) races in Sweden in the Ski Europe Cup . In 2003 she became national runner-up in slalom.

In 2004 Christine Hargin ended her alpine skiing career and turned to freeride off-road.

In 2012 she won the World Championship as part of the Freeride World Tour (FWT). In 2015 she finished fourth in the Freeride World Tour behind the Austrian Eva Walkner .

Private

Her brother Mattias Hargin (* 1985) is also a ski racer and her second older sister Janette Hargin (* 1977) was also active in the World Cup and freeride.

Movies

In spring 2014 she started an Alaska expedition with her Austrian World Tour competitors Nadine Wallner and Eva Walkner . The film version of “Exploring Alaska” (director / script: Franz Hinterbrandner, Max Reichel), produced based on an idea by Eva Walkner, was shown in 2016 at the Freeride Film Festival in Vienna .
